The history of the Ch\u00e2teau de Sancerre, which from Julius Caesar to Louis-Alexandre Marnier has a rich past, invites Victor Vasarely, the father of optical art,<\/strong> and visitors to a fascinating immersion into the world of geometric abstraction and visual illusions throughout the summer in a premier wine-growing region.<\/p>\n

The thirty or so works on loan from the Vasarely Foundation\u2014oil on canvas, acrylics, wood, aluminum\u2014bear witness to the evolution of the artist’s practice and the diversity of his polychrome research. His creations act on the retina through a play of exciting contrast or harmonious soothing; they promise to engage visitors in an unprecedented visual experience where shapes and colors come to life in an exceptional setting. <\/p>\n
