Our colleague, whom we greatly commend for this magnificent work, still needed to compile the CATALOGUE RAISONN\u00c9 of his ancestor, whom the artistic, political, literary, and social elite of his time in Paris had nicknamed the “gentleman-painter.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 752 works in the Catalogue are documented<\/strong> using a cross-referencing system that links the exhibitions where the artist’s works were presented, identified public sales, and art critics’ texts to each work’s record.<\/p>\n
