In Aix-en-Provence, the VASARELY FOUNDATION will dedicate a magnificent retrospective of the work of Claire Vasarely, artist and wife of Victor Vasarely, herself a wonderful artist of color, from June 13 until February 15, 2026. <\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Born Kl\u00e1ra Spinner, as a young artist, she was part of the great international family that was Montparnasse in Paris during the Roaring Twenties. Spotted in 1929 by the Japanese painter Foujita, he immortalized her charming and very modern profile. <\/div>\n
After remaining too long in the shadow of her iconic husband, Victor Vasarely, the artist’s wife will now emerge in the full richness of her personal work as an essential figure of the Hungarian avant-garde and 20th-century female creation.<\/div>\n
\"1952,\"\"The exhibition is organized in partnership with the Vasarely Museum in P\u00e9cs (Hungary); it is based on unpublished archives and a selection of rare works tracing the journey of an independent, free, and visionary female artist who, we are convinced, not only inspired the work of her dear husband but also her era.<\/div>\n

The curatorship of this exhibition has been entrusted to Val\u00e9rie Da Costa, professor of contemporary art history at Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint Denis University.]<\/div>\n
