The Expert

Since 1972, Alain Cical has appraised, selected, and evaluated the works of major ceramists from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, up to those who have continued this French tradition to the present day. This is a specialized field that requires knowledge of both the various artisanal and industrial techniques and practices, as well as the repertoires of artists who worked in major manufactories or even independently, sometimes with the advice of leading masters in the field. Expert Alain Cical primarily follows: Ernest CHAPLET (1835-1909)
, Albert DAMMOUSE (1848-1926), Adrien DALPAYRAT (1844-1910)
, Clément MASSIER (1845-1917), Auguste DELAHERCHE (1857-1940), Taxile DOAT (1851-1939), Théodore DECK (1823-1891), Edmond LACHENAL (1855-1948), and Raoul LACHENAL (1885-1956) Émile DECOEUR (1876-1953), Émile LENOBLE (1875-1939), and Jacques LENOBLE (1902-1967)
, Camille MOREAU-NELATON (1840-1897), and Étienne MOREAU-NELATON (1859-1927). Henri SIMMEN (1880 – 1963) , Séraphin SOUDBININE (1867-1944), as well as Jean-Joseph CARRIÈS (1885-1894), and his friends, Georges HOENTSCHEL (1855 -1915), Paul JEANNENEY(1861-1920), and all artists who are part of the CARRIES School.
