The Expert
Passionate from an early age about the trade of antiques and art objects, Jérôme Lalande became a professional expert at the age of 26 and quickly specialized in 20th-century luxury items. A meeting in 1998 led him to specialize his field of research when he became a service provider for Hermès, an activity he continues to pursue: he supplies the prestigious house on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré with precious elements from its past production, finding specimens in private collections. Indeed, Hermès gathers objects in its heritage that bear witness to its manufacturing over the years, archives of excellent craftsmanship that thus revive the spirit and perpetuate the house. After advising Christie's, Artcurial, and other public auction houses, Jérôme Lalande became an expert in high-end leather goods, luxury luggage, and Hermès objects by joining the UFE. His areas of activity are diverse today: - Advice and appraisal for private individuals - Appraisals and organization of sales for auction houses - Appraisals for judicial or criminal police institutions - Appraisals for online sales sites - Research and advice on antique pieces for companies/institutions His expertise extends to pieces from the late 19th century as well as the most recent handbags threatened by counterfeiting. Since 2020, Jérôme Lalande has been an accredited judicial expert at the Paris Court of Appeal.Contact
