The expert:
Since the 1990s, his passion for the world of watches led Alexis Francis-Boeuf to work for several years at GARDE-TEMPS, a Parisian establishment once renowned for collectible watches. Then, after a collaboration with the famous jeweler DUBAIL on Place Vendôme, he joined the company LES MONTRES (3 Parisian locations) in 1998 as a sales advisor, where he continues to practice today. At the same time, he has written three works in the form of thematic diaries dedicated to major watchmaking houses, widely distributed in France and abroad (Fnac, Virgin, Amazon & major bookstores). For four years (from 2010 to 2014), driven by his passion, he created and hosted a weekly literary column on the montres-de-luxe.com website titled "Le temps d'une phrase," where he deciphered quotes from illustrious authors in resonance with time. In 2017, as a visiting professor at the IUT of Saint-Denis (Paris XIII), he shared his experience in the world of watches for one year with students in a bachelor's degree program for the marketing of luxury techniques. Some of the many topics covered included: the operating principles of a watch, Haute Horlogerie, major watchmaking groups, the collectors' market, etc. For the past five years, as an independent horology expert, he has collaborated with the famous auction houses MILLON and ARTPRECIUM, with whom he organizes auctions at Drouot and live on Interencheres. These sales (at a rate of 2 to 4 per year) have necessitated the development and enhancement of the department. This growing activity within the MILLON auction house has led him, thanks to the depth of his knowledge, to research, appraise, and sell several hundred watches at auction, whether they be historical, collectible, rare, simple, or with complications (Tourbillon, minute repeater, perpetual calendar...). Some have even received extensive media coverage. It is in this context that on April 30, 2022, the program Grand Reportage (TF1) dedicated a full hour-and-a-half feature to "watch enthusiasts" in which he accompanied the director of the horology department in the appraisal and sale of a historical watch. Within the Union Française des Experts, Alexis Francis-Boeuf will advise you on both wristwatches and pocket watches in order to appraise, sell, or purchase them to complete a collection, diversify your investments, or simply to celebrate an event.
