The Expert
Didier Gouin has been an expert in Breton Heritage for over forty years; he puts his experience at the service of collectors, museums, and all lovers of Breton art. It is in the heart of the medieval city of Guérande that he has established his business for twenty-two years, after spending twenty years in Loctudy, Finistère. A staunch regionalist, he was the first to specialize in Breton heritage—which was poorly highlighted at the time. He has contributed to its influence by collaborating on numerous exhibitions and participating in the enrichment of museum collections. He is a convinced regionalist. His dual activity as an antique dealer and expert makes Didier Gouin a seasoned professional. He has an exceptional knowledge of the market and spends his life tracking down rare objects. A specialist in Quimper earthenware, Breton painting, and Breton folk art, Didier Gouin has been their ambassador for over forty years through his profession as an antique dealer, and notably by collaborating every July for fifteen years with the "L’âme bretonne" auction at Adjug’art in Brest. A lover of Brittany and its history, he describes himself as a purveyor of objects, putting his eye at the service of painting, sculpture, or folk art, whether by minor or major masters who have all immortalized the manners and customs of such a unique region. He joined the UFE in 1998 and, in this capacity, regularly lends his specialist eye to auction houses such as Adjug’art in Brest, the Jack-Philippe Ruellan firm in Vannes, and Nantes Enchères Talma.Contact
