The Expert
After studying law in Paris, Arnaud Plaisance was introduced to the art market at ESIAG (École Supérieure Internationale d'Art et de Gestion). In 1990, he opened his first shop at Marché Serpette in Saint-Ouen, then in 1992, Galerie Plaisance, 3 rue Bonaparte, in Paris, dedicated to 20th-century decorative art and design. Progressively, prestigious auction houses placed their trust in him; he then created, in 2008, the firm Plaisance Expertise. Between 2008 and 2015, he participated in 54 catalogued sales for the auction house Aguttes in Paris and Cannes and one catalogued sale in Miami for the auction house Fine Art Auction Miami. In 2015, Arnaud Plaisance opened his own auction house, Art Auction France, which already has 15 catalogued sales to its credit. Since 2016, he has collaborated with the auction houses Piasa and Tessier & Sarrou et Associés. Two years later, with Ange Baron and Maxime Grail, he created the company PBG Expertise, which collaborates primarily with the auction houses Tessier & Sarrou et Associés, Gros & Delettrez and Delon-Hoebanx as an expert firm and sale organizer. On an occasional basis, PBG Expertise also provides its expert services to the firms Beaussant-Lefèvre, Drouot Estimations and Joron-Derem... as well as to a very large number of other firms in the provinces. Arnaud Plaisance's expertise is particularly recognized in the context of 20th-century decorative art and design sales for its quality, seriousness and precision.
