VERY IMPORTANT On the occasion of my retirement, Annie Guédras informs you that Mr. Dominique Bert, member of the Union Française des Experts, will continue as of October 1, 2025 the expert appraisal work on the work of Jean Cocteau in association with Gautier Mornas, also recognized for his expertise on the Poet's work. To support them in this appraisal work, Annie Guédras has transmitted to them all her archives and documents gathered over more than 40 years and has accepted to be Honorary President of their association for this expertise. The website is: www.expertise-cocteau.com And the email contact@expertise-cocteau.com ___________________________________ ANNIE GUÉDRAS AND JEAN COCTEAU_____________________________________________________________________________ A poet with multiple talents, Jean Cocteau expressed himself in all forms of art; he was the soul of his century. His graphic and plastic work became Annie Guédras's specialty following a long education within the Cocteau circle thanks to Édouard Dermit, his adopted son and legatee, who took her under his wing in the 1970s. He wished to share his knowledge with her so that the Poet's work would shine in its truest authenticity. Annie Guédras long assisted Lucie Weill in her gallery, Au Pont des Arts, rue Bonaparte, which was Jean Cocteau's Parisian gallery during his lifetime and which remained, after his death, the rallying point for all those interested in his work. In this fundamental gallery, Annie Guédras met many friends of Jean Cocteau who had notably worked with him in all fields of artistic creation; she was able to gather from them a very privileged insight into the man and his work. For his part, Édouard Dermit, who had opened his House in Milly-la-Forêt to her, asked her to make an inventory of all the Poet's works and numerous documents, then entrusted her with organizing national and international exhibitions by creating an association to establish an itinerant Jean Cocteau Museum. Annie Guédras was therefore its administrative and cultural director and it was in this capacity that she organized exhibitions and tributes to Jean Cocteau in the greatest museums in the world. Since 1995, she has devoted herself exclusively to the expert appraisal of Jean Cocteau's work and fights relentlessly against all the counterfeits that proliferate within and beyond our borders.
