DIAMONDS, AND GOLCONDA DIAMONDS

Expert Capucine Juncker:

After studying history and completing a Master’s degree in philosophy at La Sorbonne, Capucine Juncker began her career in public relations, specializing in the lifestyle and luxury sectors.

Now a jewelry historian, she is a gemologist particularly specialized in the appraisal of all categories of diamonds and Golconda diamonds.

After attending courses at the Institut National de Gemmologie in Paris and the De Beers Diamond Institute in London, she obtained their diplomas, namely the ING certificate in 2013 and the Diamond Essential diploma from the De Beers Institute in 2019.

She writes, gives lectures, and collaborates notably with The Swiss Gemmological Institute, the SSEF, in Geneva, a world leader in the analysis of precious stones, diamonds, and pearls, and the auction houses Christie’s and Sotheby’s.

She focuses more specifically on jewelry that has marked history. To share her research and passions in this field, she created Property of a Lady in 2016, a website where she addresses history, creation, and the jewelry market.

Her writing activity has expanded across numerous journals (Beaux-Arts Magazine, auction catalogs, Revue Française de Gemmologie…) and the publication of several books: Magnitude Cartier (“Style and Design” Collection, Flammarion, 2019), Emeralds, A Whole World! (Éditions du Piat, 2022, co-authored), and Golconda Diamonds (bilingual work, Skira, 2024).

Having lived in Rome, London, Dubai, and Riyadh, she closely studies the international dimension of jewelry history and the exchanges between cultural spheres.

She is a member of the Society of Jewellery Historians (London).
